“My name is JD McGibney, and I battle with Generalized Anxiety Disorder.” These were the very first words I spoke out loud to a public audience in regards to my struggles with mental health.
This Is My Brave is a mental health non-profit that is encouraging people to speak up about their experiences with mental illness in order to change the conversation. I absolutely am grateful for the opportunity to have spoken in front of an audience about my own struggles, and I feel as though I’ve taken control of my life for the first time.
